Peregrine Advisory is my consulting practice. I work in one of two modes: as an outside advisor on the org and architecture calls that don't have clean answers, or as embedded senior leadership for a defined stretch of hands-on work. The founders and leaders I work with are early stage, moving fast, and want senior leadership in the room before they've built out a bench of their own. A point-in-time engagement for engineering leaders, CTOs, and founders who need a seasoned outside read on a single high-stakes org or architecture decision before they commit.
- Org design: team topology, sub-team charters, on-call design for production services
- Platform architecture: platform strategy, build-vs-buy calls, and the technical judgment to weigh the tradeoffs behind them
- Scaling: hiring process design, engineering leveling, onboarding, manager development
- Reliability: root cause prioritization, observability investment, structured on-call programs
Embedded engineering leadership
A bounded engagement, weeks or months, for teams moving fast who want senior leadership hands-on for a defined stretch, building with them rather than advising from the outside.
- Technical leadership: setting architecture direction, making the hard technical calls, and managing the team day to day
- Hiring and team-building: designing interview loops and evaluation rubrics, running the pipeline end to end, and growing engineers and managers as the org scales
- Program and product ops: turning loose asks into a real backlog, sequencing the work, and gathering requirements straight from customers
